Friends don’t let friends not vote! Make sure all your friends and family are registered to vote

Control of Congress hinges on the next election this November 3. Republicans in Congress have done nothing to stop Trump’s assault on the Constitution, on our health care, on due process and the rule of law, or to stop the illegal war in Iran. They must be voted out.

In Pennsylvania, the election actually starts as soon as mail ballots are sent out, in early to mid October, and ends on election day: November 3, 2026.

Vote because you care! And vote so that you can help others too

And take the following steps to make sure your voice is heard at the ballot box:

  1. Apply for a mail-in ballot here: https://www.pa.gov/services/vote/apply-for-a-mail-in-or-absentee-ballot. Provide your email address so that you can receive notifications on the status of your ballot.

  2. Check the status of your voter registration here: https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/pages/voterregistrationstatus.aspx. Please double check!

  3. Ask all your friends, family and acquaintances to also follow steps 1 and 2. Text or email them the link to this page: https://www.indivisiblepoconos.org/vote and then call to see if they followed through 🙂

  4. Volunteer to be a poll greeter or poll watcher, or to be a poll worker (paid around $200 to $300) on election day - scroll down for more information (below)

  5. After filling out your mail ballot (once it’s received, in October), follow instructions carefully, insert the ballot and then seal the privacy envelope, sign and date it, and return it to a drop box at a library (in Monroe County) or the elections office. Send it by mail only as a last resort, latest by Oct. 22 if possible. If you have provided your email address, you will receive a notification when your ballot is received by the elections office; otherwise call them at (570) 517-3165

  6. If you haven’t received your mail ballot by October 20, call the Monroe County Elections office at (570) 517-3165

  7. If you encounter difficulties or have questions at any time, contact the PA Voter Assistance Hotline - call or text (833) 728-6837 (833 PA VOTES)

Volunteer to be a poll greeter or poll observer, or to be a paid election worker on election day

  • Poll workers make ~$200 for the day  (~$300 if a Judge of Election) - they work inside the polls all day.  They must be appointed by the county elections office (unless they were elected last May).

  • Poll watchers are volunteers and must receive a special poll watching certificate / credential from the elections office, which allows them to come inside any polling place in the county on election day and observe the proceedings.  And if they step outside they can "change hats" if they want, and take on the role of poll greeter.

  • Poll greeters don't need any credential.  They can volunteer outside any polling place doing what's called "electioneering" -- telling people about our candidates, answering questions about who to vote for, passing out palm cards, etc. -- but aren't allowed to go inside (unless they're voting).
